    ABOUT THE CLUB

    1. What does PHSOB stand for?
    PHSOB stands for Pretoria High School Old Boys. Our Bowls Club is part of a proud sporting tradition with a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.

    2. Where is the PHSOB Bowls Club located?
    We are situated at 378 Queen’s Cresent, Lynnwood, Pretoria, inside the PHSOB Sports Complex in Pretoria.

    3. Who can join the PHSOB Bowls Club?
    Anyone! We welcome all ages and skill levels – from beginners to seasoned bowlers.

    4. Do I have to be an old boy or former student to join?
    No, the club is open to everyone, not just alumni.

    5. What is lawn bowls?
    Lawn bowls is a precision sport where players roll biased balls to stop as close as possible to a smaller white ball called the “jack.”

    6. Do I need experience to start playing?
    Not at all! We offer coaching and friendly games to help newcomers learn the game in a relaxed environment.

    7. What equipment do I need to play?
    Initially, just flat-soled shoes. We provide bowls (also called woods) for beginners. Once you’re committed, you can get your own set.

    8. Is lawn bowls a competitive or social sport?
    Both! At PHSOB, we cater to all – whether you’re looking for social fun or competitive league play.’

    The club is open throughout the week. Social bowls are typically held on Saturday mornings, with competitions and Tabs in on weekends.

    13. Do you host events or competitions?
    Yes! We host club competitions, league matches, social days, and special events throughout the year.

    14. Can I hire the venue for private functions?
    Yes, our clubhouse is available for private bookings. Contact us for availability and pricing.
