
PHSOB Bowls Celebrates a Successful 68th Annual General Meeting – 9 August 2025
The 68th Annual General Meeting of PHSOB Bowls, held on 9 August 2025, was a resounding success and a testament to the strength, unity, and passion within our club. We were thrilled to see such strong attendance and enthusiastic participation from our members – a reflection of the commitment that continues to drive our club forward.
Full Agenda, Full Engagement
Every item on the agenda was thoroughly discussed with robust engagement from members. The open dialogue and constructive input from all present ensured that the meeting was productive, transparent, and forward-focused.
2025/2026 Management Committee Elected
A highlight of the AGM was the election of the new Management Committee, who will steer the club into the 2025/2026 season with energy and dedication:
- President: Riaan du Randt
- Vice President: Sitche Tol
- Secretary: Monia Vermaak
- Internal Competition Secretary: Friedel Dedekind
- External Competition Secretary: William Barfoot
- Treasurer: Clinton McSeveney
- Additional Members: Retha Calitz, Brandon Vahey, Danny Ross, and Paul Edkins
We wish the new committee all the best in their roles and thank them for volunteering their time and skills for the benefit of the club.
Official Opening of Our New Club Facilities
A proud moment during the AGM proceedings was the official opening of our brand-new club facilities. The ribbon was cut by outgoing Vice President Jaco Smal, whose commitment and leadership over the past years have contributed significantly to this milestone. The new facilities mark a major step forward in ensuring a vibrant and functional space for all our members and guests to enjoy.
Honouring a Legend – Nico Boezaart
The AGM concluded with a truly special moment as our president Riaan du Randt presented Nico Boezaart with an Honorary Life Membership of PHSOB Bowls. This prestigious award recognises Nico’s outstanding years of service to both the club and to Bowls Gauteng North (BGN). His leadership, mentorship, and selfless contributions have left an indelible mark on the sport and our community.
